Madrona Peak Observatory

Welcome To Madrona Peak Observatory

Madrona Peak Observatory aims to share the dark Texas skies with researchers, students, and amateur astronomers all over the world. We average over 200 clear nights per year with seeing usually in the 1.5 -2.5 arc-second range.

The 24 inch (609mm) Ritchey-Chretien provides deep sky astro/scientific imaging capabilities. It is fully automated and capable of remote, unattended operation.

The Observatory is located in Bandera County, Texas in the remote Texas Hill Country and is owned by the non-profit Mark and Candace Williams Family Foundation, dedicated to science education. We grant free telescope time to researchers and students. Contact us if you wish to discuss using the observatory.
